It never had a chance.
The first film, anchored by a dewy Olivia Newton-John and Dance God John Travolta, is beloved.
But while they flip the script here, with Michelle Pfeiffer sliding into a Pink Ladies jacket, this severely underrated follow-up never gets the love it deserves.
Which is a stinkin’ shame.
It’s not a perfect film, but it does have a killer soundtrack (“Cool Rider,” “Score Tonight,” “Who’s That Guy?”) and is tons o’ fun.
Maybe give the film a new name, something like “Back to School Again,” and let it emerge from the shadow of its predecessor.
