Sleazy is as sleazy does.
There are no heroes in this southern fried melodrama, just a bunch of losers circling each other, ready to attack or run, depending on the outcome of their poorly planned life choices.
Matthew McConaughey is in fine form as the most-dangerous of the assembled mouth-breathers, a hired gun willing to abuse anyone and everyone in sight to get what he wants.
Backed by a solid supporting cast including Gina Gershon and Thomas Haden Church, McConaughey oozes across the screen, inflicting death and (chicken related) damage.
He’s a greasy grim reaper, and, as always, quite mesmerizing.
