The Friends of Eddie Coyle

He’s gonna get whacked.

You know it, I know it, he knows it.

It’s not a question of if, but of when.

Eddie Coyle, brought to life by the incomparable Robert Mitchum, is a sad-sack, low-level hood, just high enough on the food chain to know where all the bodies are buried.

His body a mass of pain, especially the knuckles (“They put your hand in a drawer then somebody kicks the drawer shut. Hurt like a bastard.”), his soul scarred even more, he looks for a way out, already knowing the answer.

Life ain’t a fairytale for made men.
