Assault on Precinct 13 (1976)

“Hey, I wanted vanilla twist.”

John Carpenter doesn’t go halfway.

Anyone who’s seen this ’70s thriller, witnessing the infamous “little girl gets whacked while ordering ice cream” scene, can attest to that.

When they’re not busy peppering soft serve trucks with hot lead, the seriously grimy bad guys in this down ‘n dirty flick are equal opportunity killers.

Hopped up on hate and raging for revenge after their gang gets brutalized, they go toe-to-toe with a motley assortment of cops and convicts who band together, trying to survive the night in a shut-down police station.

It’s high noon, after midnight.
