Michelle Rodriguez came in like a hurricane.
Twenty years down the road, she’s established herself as a go-to actress for rough-and-tumble roles, with stints in everything from The Fast and the Furious series to Lost.
But back when I got this film on a VHS screener at Videoville, I had no clue who Rodriguez, or director Karyn Kusama, were.
That changed fast, as the tale of a Brooklyn girl raging through life, played out.
It’s a film which is rough around the edges, raw, and absolutely riveting – just like Rodriguez herself.
See it again, or for the first time.
