Tromeo and Juliet

Still better than Shakespeare in Love.

Making a film equal parts cheeky and impish, and downright disgusting, Troma, the studio which gave us The Toxic Avenger and Class of Nuke ‘Em High, went highbrow for a hot moment with this riff on The Bard.

And by highbrow, I mean there’s a giant mutant penis with sharp teeth.

Plus a deformed cow monster, and a dizzying assortment of unusual and gag-inducing deaths.

Long before Guardians of the Galaxy, James Gunn made his debut here as a writer, and his warped sense of humor makes the gore and sleaze go down easy.
