Dick Tracy

It’s hip to be square.

Dick Tracy was already old-school way back in 1990, when Warren Beatty starred in and directed this ode to the square-jawed, tommy gun-wielding copper.

Facing off with an all-star supporting cast (most hidden under heavy prosthetics to play a rogue’s gallery of bad guys), and tempted by Madonna’s heavy-breathing torch singer, our hero is beset on all sides.

But he does have true blue gal pal Tess Trueheart to lean on.

Plus, his film, which featured some of the snappiest color schemes ever concocted for a comic book movie, still is an eyeball-pleaser 30 years later.
