The Wicker Man (1973)

Burn, baby, burn.

Long before becoming a TV star as The Equalizer, Edward Woodward starred in one of the creepier horror films of all time, anchoring things as a Dudley Do-Right cop who ends up stranded in a land of madness.

His new home?

An island shrouded in mystery, where he goes in search of a missing girl and instead finds unholy ruin orchestrated by a devilish Christopher Lee.

While The Wicker Man surely hit with more impact back in ’73, when viewers didn’t already know the secrets of its fiery finale, it holds up.

Still disturbing to the final scream.
