It all started with a devious penguin.
This is actually the second short to feature Wallace and Gromit – a brilliant, but obtuse British inventor and his ever-suspicious dog – following A Grand Day Out.
But it’s the first one which made a major impact on the booming VHS market, enchanting the world with a wild mix of slapstick humor and sly background gags.
Everything clicks in this one, but I especially love the gun-toting penguin, who never says a word as he proves to be a criminal mastermind (and master of disguise).
In the words of Wallace, it’s “cracking!”
