Whenever some nitwit called Black Panther the first Black superhero movie, I was like, um, Wesley Snipes made three Blade films before the IRS caught him.

And what about Blankman???

A lot of these Marvel Comics butt-kissers weren’t around in 1994, when Damon Wayans took the nation by storm playing a hapless bumbler who takes out crime one accidental punch at a time.

Capable of crafting bulletproof clothes and a robot assistant, yet prone to acting like an idiot, he may not have been the hero we needed, but he was the one we deserved.
