Night Moves (2013)

Damn, what happened to the dam?

Nothing good, that’s what, in a tense, extremely well-acted tale of three radical environmentalists who start paranoid, then get far, far worse.

They want to make a huge statement, and blowing up a giant concrete barrier seems to be the way to go, but things don’t turn out the way anyone expects.

Director Kelly Reichardt is one of the best independent filmmakers working.

From Old Joy and Wendy and Lucy, and on to her latest, First Cow, the through line is simple — unique, powerful stories, told with precision.

This one doesn’t disappoint.
