The Hitcher (1986)

“I want you to stop me.”

Scuzzy hitchhiker Rutger Hauer lays it on the line for the kid who made the HUGE mistake of giving him a ride.

Toughen up, find some big-time cojones and put the gleeful psycho down hard, or he’ll just keep coming, leaving a trail of bodies along the backroads of America.

Is the killer man or myth, a real-life mass murderer, or an avenging angel wreaking havoc on helpless humans?

Director Robert Harmon and writer Eric Red offer clues, but leave the final decision to us, a superb mystery wrapped in a scream of anguish.
