Run Lola Run

Don’t walk.

Franka Potente needs to get where she’s going fast in this zippy late ’90s German film, a big favorite from long-gone video store days.

Lola’s boyfriend lost a bag of money on his way to meet a crime boss, and is currently soiling his shorts at the prospect of not being able to fulfill his one job.

With the clock ticking, and the tension building, director Tom Tykwer sends his super-cool heroine careening around the city in a mad dash, fracturing time and setting up multiple finales to the tale.

This one hits the tape with a vengeance.
