House of Games

If you don’t see a sucker at the table, get up.

Wisdom as old as time, and yet few follow it, and definitely not the marks in this riveting conman tale.

Written and directed by David Mamet, it follows a psychiatrist (Lindsay Crouse) who gets mixed up with a patient (Joe Mantegna), promptly free-falling into a world where everyone is on the make.

The good doctor gets a rush from mixing with lowlifes, but the stakes — both financially, and in life-and-death terms — soon ramp up, putting her in a bind.

Who’s walking away from this twisted tale? See for yourself.
