Batman (1966)

Holy big-screen debuts, Batman!

Spinning out of the campy TV show which enchanted a nation, this is as far from dark ‘n gritty as you can get.

Still, even for someone such as myself, a comic book lifer who reveres Michael Keaton’s turn as the Dark Knight, this remains a reliable piece of entertainment.

Taken for what it is — a giddy, light-hearted romp in which the dynamic duo’s greatest villains team-up to reduce the occupants of the United Nations into dust piles — it’s a great time-killer.

Just remember to stock up on your bat-shark repellent before settling into the recliner.
