Look, it’s not about the acting, OK?
Writer/director/stuntman/promoter H.B. Halicki was a man of many talents, but no one thought he was giving Cary Grant much competition in delivering dialogue onscreen.
What made the man a legend was his singular ability to wreck stuff, captured in the handful of films he made before dying during a movie stunt gone tragically wrong.
The original Gone in 60 Seconds is his best, but this film, which trashed 150+ cars, trucks, motorcycles, and planes, is super-fun, brain-dead entertainment.
We’d tell them to punch the pedal through the metal, but there ain’t no metal left.
