Child’s Play (1988)

He just wants to be your buddy.

Already the creepiest-looking doll on the market — before it starts screaming about wanting to be a real boy and slashing away with a very-sharp knife — Chucky is bad to the (plastic) bone.

Voiced by Brad Dourif, the midget of mayhem launched a never-ending parade of films which have remained surprisingly-watchable.

Like any slasher series worth its weight in spilled blood, the plots have gotten increasingly complicated, yet dumber, at the same time.

But the original still has a zing, and will make you think twice about sleeping with the toy chest not double-bolted.
