Nasty as it wants to be.
Brutally funny, and plain brutal at times, this blood-soaked Polish dark comedy is dead set on making sure few, if any, of its New Year’s Eve revelers will make it out alive.
The film opens with a pair of detectives surveying a house strewn with bodies, then bounces back in time to show us just how the widespread carnage went down.
It’s not the work of one Freddy Krueger-style madman, but instead an interlocking chain of accidents, karma gone bad, and sheer stupidity teaming up to kick-start the new year.
A bloody good surprise.
